Dr. Joana Tamayo was born in Manila, Phillipines and immigrated to Glendale, California at the age of 2. She graduated with a bachelor of science with a major in medical technology in 1997 and doctor of medicine in 2001 at Loma Linda University. She completed her post-doctoral training in obstetrics and gynecology in 2005 at White Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Tamayo became board certified in obstetrics and gynecology in 2007. She resides in Glendale, California with her husband, Roland, and her twin boys, Bradley and Tyler. Her husband is a free lance artist and full time caretaker of their twins. Dr. Tamayo enjoys spending time with her family and friends – shopping, playdates, gallery shows, etc.

Dr. Tamayo has personally been through many gynecologic and obstetric experiences that help her empathize with her patients - three years of infertility (Clomid, Femara, artificial insemination, laparoscopy to diagnose and get rid of endometriosis, in vitro fertilization), twin pregnancy, preterm labor, and cesarean section.

Her goal is to provide good service to each patient. To give her patients her undivided attention at each visit, listen to their concerns and needs, answer all of their questions, educate them about their diagnosis and give them a list of treatment options to choose from. She hopes to establish a trusting patient-doctor relationship that will last a lifetime.
